About
Us
In 1985, Elizabeth
Nolan, President and Founder of WDC, was diagnosed with early
breast cancer. In her battle to fight this life-threatening disease,
Liz realized that part of the struggle was dealing with ill-informed
and unsympathetic healthcare professionals who told her to "not
worry her pretty little head".
Because
of that early detection, and because Liz took control
of her treatment and found the right doctors, she is now a
20-year survivor, who was so changed by the experience
that she founded Women's Diagnostic Center and devotes her time
to advocating for the services and research monies that make breast
health education and services available to the women in Northeastern
Ohio communities.
Liz has
- served
on the board of the American Cancer Society
since 1997
- chaired
the Breast Health Committee,
- dedicated
herself, and her company, to providing
- education
in the benefits of early breast cancer detection
- superior
mobile mammography services to the working women and the
undeserved population of Northeastern Ohio and surrounding
vicinities.
